Celeste Tortoiseshell Kitten from Hemet for Cat Adoption

Meet Celeste! The foster has this to say about Celeste:

“Celeste is the last of the Hemet Ferals. She is a domestic short hair Torti female and has an abundance of torti-tude. Celeste was the 2nd most feral of this bunch but she too is coming along very nicely just like the rest of her son links. Like Tucker, she is a little more quick to cower or hide at quick movements or a loud noises but she doesn’t joy being padded, snuggled, picked up, and played with. Give her a little time to get to know you and she will be your best friend. Celeste is curious but also cautious about dogs, and does enjoy meeting other cats.”

The kittens were picked up as ferals in Hemet on May 6th. They are estimated to be 8 weeks old in late May. The siblings are Tucker (pale orange tabby male), Todd (gray male), Celeste (tortoiseshell female), and Kammie (dilute tortoiseshell female.) See them all online at http://babybobbysmeowhouserescue.org/our-animals.html
We hold regular weekend adoptions at PetSmart on Temecula Parkway.  Learn more about our adoption events on our website at http://babybobbysmeowhouserescue.org/adoption.html

Rescued Neighborhood Feral Kittens – Ashton, Ethan, Alyssa, Danny, Brandon

Foster Victoria gave this update about the kittens she trapped and is fostering:
“These are the ferals I trapped on my street.  Everyone is getting more and more social every day. They all purr! Brandon and Ethan are the most social. Ashton was the most shy but he is now the third social. Ashton is timid but he wants to loved on. If I am petting someone else he comes over to be pet in a timid way. He will come over and lay next to the cat I am petting and look at me like pet me too. They have taken a lot of work but they are almost ready for new homes. No hissing no hiding. Just kitties that want to play! They are still a little sensitive to noise but we are working on that. We can hold them and snuggle them we just need to get them use to being man handle by kids!

They are about 10 – 12 weeks old and they are almost 3 lbs. They should be available in the next couple weeks. Brandon, Ashton, and Ethan are the biggest. Alyssa and Danny are smaller. ”

Three Kittens and Mom Cat are Trapped

BBMHR Feral Kitten rescue
Kittens trapped by volunteer Patsy

More kittens! We do need to do a tally at some point. Volunteer Patsy trapped 3 kittens and their mother. She had been trying to trap mom for 2 years. She is guessing the kittens are 5 weeks old, but will confirm when she takes them in for a vet check.

Our fur babies are all too small for adoption, but you can complete an application form to be pre-approved if there if you want to adopt or are interested in a specific kitten that we have featured. If so, please email us at info@babybobbysmeowhouserescue.org.

Our kittens need to be about 10-12 weeks old or 2.5-3 pounds before they are big enough for a spay and neuter surgery. People have told us they know kittens who have had it done at an earlier age. Please know that we believe that this compromises the cat’s long term health with potential problems from not being physically developed enough. There can be complications from receiving anesthesia while being so young or the urinary track does not develop correctly due to the surgery being too soon.

Yes, potential adopters will miss a few weeks when they are super small and adorable, but it will make for a lifetime of a healthier cat. Thank You!

Rescued Newborn Kitten found on doorstep

Valarie got a midnight call who found a bloody newborn on their front step with no momma cat in sight. The couple cleaned up the kitten and placed it on a heating pad back on the front porch in the hopes momma cat could come back.  She never did.  Valarie spoke with the couple again at 3 AM and found out there were multiple strays and ferals on their property.  The man had asked for help from Animal Friends of the Valleys shelter to trap, spay, and neuter, but did not get assistance.  Shell went and got the newborn kitten later that morning.  She was able to introduce the newborn to Mama Torrie and the baby was adopted.  We plan to help the couple with trapping, spaying, and neutering the cats to help end the cycle of pet overpopulation.
