Rescue Cat Momma Maggie Mae and her Tabby Kittens

Meet Momma Cat Maggie May and her tabby kittens Max (gray male), Mady (brown female), Milo (brown male), and Maverick (brown male). The kittens are scheduled to be sterilized mid-May with adoptions at the end of May. We are posting now so we can find potential adopters as soon as they are ready. The photos are from early April. We are working with the foster home to get current photos.

This is the background of Maggie May and her tabby kittens. There was a rather large colony of cats at a gas station in Winchester. The cats were regularly getting killed since it is a busy street. The original rescuer worked to trap and fix the feral cats. She worked to get them placed including the Animal Friends of the Valleys feral barn cat program.

The original rescuer teamed up with one of our volunteers. One of the female cats, now Maggie May, gave birth right after being trapped. Our volunteer took Maggie May and her kittens into her home for fostering.

The kittens love to play and cuddle. Maggie enjoys sleeping on the top of her foster mom’s head. They have three speeds: go, go faster and STOP. They love their toys and enjoy chasing their foster mom’s feet if she scuffles through the bedroom. They like to play hide and seek.

This momma cat and her kittens are being fostered in a private home by our cat rescue. They will not be available to meet until the adoption event, but we will have updates on our blog, Facebook and our newsletter.

Jackie O Momma Cat and her Kittens for Pet Adoption in Temecula, CA

Meet the family of Jackie O. Momma is a dilute medium hair female young cat.  She has four kittens – Spunky (gray tabby short hair male), Cashmere (dilute calico medium hair female), Little Bits (tortoiseshell short hair female), Redford (orange tabby male short hair).  They were found homeless wandering in a neighborhood yard when they were rescued.

Their foster home gave these descriptions of them:

Jackie O is cool and composed, but quick to be affectionate and talkative upon meeting someone new. She exudes an elegance about her. Jackie O is accepting of another cat and dog in the household while reigning supreme in keeping a watchful eye on her litter. She is a beauty.

Cashmere is very lively and playful. She sports the longest hair of her siblings and most resembles her mom. Most likely to win a Miss Kitty contest.

Spunky is like the friendly Energizer Bunny until his batteries finally dim. He loves to wrestle with his siblings and play with as many toys as he can find. Most likely to fall asleep anywhere.

Little Bits is the smallest of her siblings, but with the biggest and most gentle heart. She revels in being an independent explorer and when ready for a nap likes a good lap. Most likely to be voted “Sweetest of All”.

Redford is super confident and bonded with his foster kitty and doggie the quickest. Most likely to take over the world.

Momma and her kittens need more time to grow up and wean.  We like our kittens to be 2.5 – 3 pounds for their spay and neuter surgery.  This helps their little bodies develop more in many ways including their ability to tolerate anesthesia for surgery.  We are posting them now so as to take names of interested adopters so once they have their surgeries we can adopt them into a forever home.  We are hopefully to have them ready by early June but it could be earlier or later.  Interested adopters will receive updates.  Please email info@babybobbysmeowhouserescue.org with your interest.  Please note if you are interested in a specific animal or interested in multiple.

Jackie O with her kittens – Dilute Calico Female Cat for for Adoption

Our kittens are not be available for adoption until they reach about 2.5-3 pounds which happens at about 10-12 weeks. At this time, the kittens will undergo a spay and neuter operation. It can be done younger; however, we have found waiting a few extra weeks gives a better lifetime of health to the cat so the kitten has more time to develop physically. The extra weight is helpful too in coping with potential anesthesia side effects after surgery. Please be patient with us 🙂

This family is being fostered in a private home by our cat rescue. We are a rescue and not a shelter so we do not have a facility. The kitten will not be available to meet until an adoption event at PetSmart in Temecula. We are unable to bring any unsterilized animals to the adoption event per PetSmart policies but we will have updates on our cats posted on our blog, Facebook, and our newsletter.

Maya Tortoiseshell Rescue Cat for Pet Adoption in Temecula

Maya was adopted out from our rescue as a kitten in September 2018. Tortoiseshell cats are known for having a “fire” gene which gives rise to their coat. It also makes them sassy with “tortitude”. Maya ‘s owner tried but her tortitude was too much. He asked to return her to us. She scratched the carpet and the owner was moving. Her current foster home has not reported any behavior issues and shared “so far she’s being a wonderful purring love bug.”

Mittens – Tuxedo Kitten Available for Adoption

tuxedo kittens for adoption from Temecula cat rescue
Mitten is a tuxedo female short hair kitten for pet adoption

A woman found two black and white pregnant female cats in her carport. She took them into her apartment. This kitten is from one of the mothers. The kittens were picked up by our rescue on 4/22/18.
The kittens for this litter include Bat Girl (black female), Bolt (B&W male), Bolt (B&W male), Mittens (B&W female)

This kitten’s foster home said this about her:
“Mittens is the ultimate cuddler; her days consist of sleeping, purring, and definitely cuddling. Nothing makes Mittens happier than curling up in a warm lap and spending the day/night with you. ”

Rescued Neighborhood Feral Kittens – Ashton, Ethan, Alyssa, Danny, Brandon

Foster Victoria gave this update about the kittens she trapped and is fostering:
“These are the ferals I trapped on my street.  Everyone is getting more and more social every day. They all purr! Brandon and Ethan are the most social. Ashton was the most shy but he is now the third social. Ashton is timid but he wants to loved on. If I am petting someone else he comes over to be pet in a timid way. He will come over and lay next to the cat I am petting and look at me like pet me too. They have taken a lot of work but they are almost ready for new homes. No hissing no hiding. Just kitties that want to play! They are still a little sensitive to noise but we are working on that. We can hold them and snuggle them we just need to get them use to being man handle by kids!

They are about 10 – 12 weeks old and they are almost 3 lbs. They should be available in the next couple weeks. Brandon, Ashton, and Ethan are the biggest. Alyssa and Danny are smaller. ”

Thank you for all that you do for these precious kitties. Rufus (previously Cheddar) is growing healthily and is a loving and cheeky cat who loves to play fetch with his catnip mice and my husband’s smelly socks. He is a joy in our lives, made possible because of your efforts.

Tabby Kitten Toby is Looking for a Home

Cat Rescue Tabby Kitten for Pet Adoption
Tabby Kitten Toby for Adoption

Meet the Tobe-ster (Tobey). This little kitten has been with Baby Bobby’s Meow House Rescue for a while now. Mostly due to the fact that he doesn’t show well at the adoption events because he is so scared.

Cat Rescue Tabby Kitten for Pet Adoption
Tabby Kitten Toby for Adoption

Recently, he was transferred to my house from his other Foster and he is just the sweetest little thing. It took him a couple of days to warm up but now he is constantly asking for attention and playful. He is playing with my cats, he is snuggling on the bed, and it is really cool to see his personality flourish because before this I only got to see him at adoption events and had no idea how sweet and playful he actually is when not at an event.

Cat Rescue Tabby Kitten for Pet Adoption

If your family is looking for a laid-back, super cute, super sweet, super soft kitty cat that loves to snuggle and occasionally play then please consider adding Toby to your home. He is 6 months old, gets along very well with other cats, gets along with kids and adults, gets along with small dogs but is unsure about big dogs. He is a little shy at first but as soon as he warms up to you (which only takes a couple days) he turns into just the best companion in the world. So please don’t let his shyness at events fool you- give this kitten the chance that he deserves for his forever home.

Welcoming Your Cat into Your Home

The below information is from PetFinder.com.  Be prepared should be your mantra when bringing a new pet into your home. Cats are particularly sensitive to new surroundings and s

ome may hide under a bed or in a closet for days or even weeks.  You can avoid pitfalls with your new critter and help him or her adapt more easily by following these guidelines.

Tips for the First 30 Days of Cat Adoption

Before You Bring Your Cat Home:

  • Cats are territorial, and coming into a new home leaves them feeling really uneasy. There’s all that unexplored space, and who knows what may lurk there. Do him a favor and provide a small area to call his own for the first few days or weeks. A bathroom or laundry room works well. Furnish the room with cat amenities, such as food, water and a litter box. You’ll want to spend time with your cat, so make sure there’s a comfortable place for you to sit as well.
  • Fill a litter box with one or two inches of litter and place it in his room where he can use it undisturbed. After all, everyone deserves a modicum of privacy when pottying, and giving him that will help forestall litter box aversion. Not sure which litter to choose? Check out How to Choose A Cat Litter on PetFinder.com.
  • Set up a feeding station with food and water bowls. Locate it away from the litter box. For more cat feeding and nutrition tips, visit PetFinder.com’s Pet Nutrition section.

    BBMHR Rescued Tabby Kitten
    Rescued Tabby Kitten
  • Cats love to get away from it all in small places, and you can provide one for your new cat as his own little safe haven. If he came home in a cat carrier, that might be a good choice. You can also make one by cutting a doorway for her in the end of a box. If you prefer, you can buy a covered cat bed at a pet supply store. In either case, make sure the space is big enough for the cat to stand up and turn around in. Cat “feng shui” probably requires that he or she be able to see the door to the room from his hidey hole, so he won’t be startled.
  • A cat’s claws need to be worn down, and they do this by scratching on things. Since you prefer that it not be your chairs and sofa, provide your cat with a socially acceptable scratching place. Some types are made of corrugated cardboard and lie on the floor; others are posts which have to be tall enough so that the cat can extend himself upward to scratch. You can encourage your cat (once he has arrived) to use the post by sprinkling it with catnip or dangling a toy at the top. He’ll get the idea. You’ll probably want a scratching post in each room where there is soft furniture, perhaps blocking access to it. You can also install sticky tape (available at pet supply stores) to corners of upholstered furniture to dissuade scratching. Don’t miss these tips on how to cut down on kitty’s scratchinghow to choose a scratching post, and facts about declawing cats.

BBMHR Rescued Tabby Kittens for Adoption
    Rescued Tabby Kittens for Adoption
  • Look at your house with a curious cat’s eye view for its climbing and exploring potential. When your cat is acclimated to your home, you may be surprised to find him on top of the upper kitchen cabinets, so make sure there’s nothing on display there or on other high shelves that can be damaged or knocked off.
  • Look for holes or registers that leave ductwork accessible and cover them up. A kitten can easily slither into one of these. You won’t want firemen in the house, jackhammering the concrete floor to extract your cat.
  • If possible, buy a cat tree for your new family member. Cats like to survey their territory, so a high perch is often a favored resting place.
  • If there are other human family members, go over the ground rules about your new pet. Remind them not to startle him and to keep the door to his room shut.

Now, you are ready for your cat’s homecoming. Preferably, bring her home in a cat carrier. It will feel safer to her. She has seen a lot of excitement, so take her directly to her new room. (Make sure the toilet lid is down, if she’s to acclimate in your bathroom.) Ideally, you would restrict her exposure to the whole family, but naturally, everyone is going to want to see her. Remind them of the ground rules you’ve set up.

  • Sit on the floor and let her come to you. Don’t force her. Just let her get acquainted on her own time. If she doesn’t approach, leave her alone and try again later. Some cats are particularly frightened, and she may retreat to her hidey hole and not come out when you’re around at all. She may only come out at night when the house is quiet. Give her time.
  • Your newly adopted cat may not eat much or at all at first. It’s best to give your cat the same food she had at the shelter or in her foster home, at least at first. Keeping some things familiar will make her feel more secure. Be sure to change her water frequently and make sure that she is drinking. If your cat hasn’t eaten for a few days, call your vet to ask for advice.

It may take your cat a week or two to adjust. Be patient.

Within a week of being adopted, take your newly adopted cat for her first wellness visit with a veterinarian. If you have a record of immunizations from the shelter, take it with you. As your cat adjusts, she’ll show signs that she wants to explore outside her safe haven. Make sure other pets or family members won’t startle her while she gradually expands her territory. She may be ready to play, so you can furnish some toys. Many cats like feather wands from the pet supply store, but homemade toys are often favored. A wad of a tissue paper to bat around or a paper bag to hide in can be fun. For more ideas on how to keep your cat entertained see Keeping Your Cat from Getting Bored.

Congratulations! If you follow these tips, you’ll be on your way to having a well-adjusted feline family member.
