We have received not enough donations to continue active cat rescue work of new animals. Valarie Martinez, BBMHR President, has been funding the shortfall from her personal bank account. However with rising costs, it is all too much. We will continue to provide advice to those asking for help. We will also use current funds to provide for unadoptable cats that are currently kept in sanctuary by Valarie.
The adoption fee of $120 does not cover the costs of rescue. Here is a sample of some of the rescue costs. Most animals are rescued from outside which requires parasite treatments.
- $153 per cat Low Cost Sterilization Surgery
- $30 per shot for Rabies Vaccination
- $30 per cat for Flea Treatment
Add on to that vet visit fees, de-wormer medications, microchips, cat food, and kitty litter. We have helped rescue animals then the original person who surrenders wants the cats back and does not reimburse the cat rescue for costs.
Valarie is heart broken to end the active rescues; however, the current situation is not sustainable. The Wildomar kittens and mom will be the last animals until further notice.
Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
